COLWELL’S EIGHT EXTRA BASE HITS EARNS HIM PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MOORHEAD, MN- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks’ OF Tim Colwell (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending July 8.

During the past week week, Colwell hit .467 to raise his season average from .297 to .346. The Shoreview, Minnesota also collected eight extra base hits over that span (six doubles and two triples). The North Dakota State grad’s best game of the week came on July 2 when he went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs scored and an RBI.

Colwell began his professional career with the Sioux City Explorers in 2014 after becoming NDSU’s career leader in triples (18), hits (291), stolen bases (52), stolen base attempts (68), at-bats (830), runs scored (172), and games played (211). Colwell hit .307 in his inaugural professional season and played two more seasons with the Explorers before moving on to the St. Paul Saints in 2017. Colwell came to the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks this season, returning to the same field he played his college home games at, Newman Outdoor Field.
