CLEBURNE OVERCOMES REDHAWKS IN EXTRAS

Cleburne 9, Fargo-Moorhead 6 (F/10)- Box Score
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (40-30) blew a ninth inning lead and ultimately fell 9-6 to the Cleburne Railroaders (22-49) in a 10-inning game on Friday.

The RedHawks led 4-3 heading into the top of the ninth. However, the Railroaders surged ahead with a three-run inning that included a go-ahead two-run pinch-hit triple by Cameron Monger. Fargo-Moorhead tied the game with back-to-back RBI singles in the next frame. In the top of the 10th, K.C. Huth hit a go-ahead RBI single and Alex Polston hit a two-run single to give the Railroaders the 9-6 lead.

Leobaldo Pina hit his seventh home run for the RedHawks and Hunter Clanin hit his third home run for Cleburne.

 

Chicago 5, Winnipeg 3- Box Score

The Chicago Dogs (29-42) scored four in the top of the seventh to best the Winnipeg Goldeyes (31-43) by a score of 5-3 on Friday.

Trey Vavra (3-for-4) led-off the top of the seventh with a home run (12) to make it a 3-1 game. Later in the inning, Stephen Perez (2-for-4) hit an RBI double and Rubi Silva hit a two-run double to put the Dogs on top 4-3. Chicago added an insurance run in the next frame.

The Goldeyes hit four doubles in the contest, two came off the bat of Tucker Nathans who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

 

Sioux Falls 8, Lincoln 6- Box Score

The Sioux Falls Canaries (27-43) edged the Lincoln Saltdogs (32-38) by a score of 8-6 on Friday.

The Canaries scored three unearned runs on two Saltdogs’ errors. Jabari Henry, David Bergin, Patrick Fiala, Chris Grayson, and Mitchell Glasser all batted in a run for Sioux Falls, which held an 8-3 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth.

Lincoln pushed scoring three in the games’ final frame, two came on a home run by Curt Smith (13) and one came on a solo shot by Brandon Jacobs (14).

 

Sioux City 3, Texas 2- Box Score

Explorers’ starting pitcher Taylor Jordan came out on top of a pitchers’ duel against the Texas AirHogs on Friday.

Jordan (10-2) limited the AirHogs to one run in seven innings of work. When Jordan left the game was tied at 1-1. Texas’ starter Gan Quan gave up just one in his six innings of work.

Nate Samson and David Kerian picked up RBI singles for Sioux City and Jay Baum produced an RBI groundout.

 

St. Paul 4, Kansas City 1- Box Score

The St. Paul Saints (39-32) won a rain shortened game against the Kansas City T-Bones (46-24) by a score of 4-1 on Friday.

The T-Bones’ lone run came on an error in the top of the fourth. In the next frame, Justin OConner hit a three-run home run (10) to put the Saints on top. St. Paul scored one more in the fifth before the game was delayed and eventually cancelled after the sixth.

Matt Solter (3-4) gave up just the one unearned run in 5.2 innings of work to earn the win.

 

Gary SouthShore 7, Wichita 2- Box Score

The Gary SouthShore Railcats (41-28) turned 11 hits into seven runs in a 7-2 win over the Wichita Wingnuts (43-28) on Friday.

Tanner Pugh (2-for-3) hit two doubles and scored two runs in the win. Alex Crosby, Andy Paz and Andy Dejesus all had two RBIs for the RailCats.

Gabe Perez (4-1) gave up just one run in five innings of work to earn the win.
