Kansas City 7, Lincoln 4 (11 Innings) – Box Score
With a three-run home run from CF Omar Carrizales, the Kansas City T-Bones walked off on the Lincoln Saltdogs 7-4 in 11 innings.
The T-Bones were leading 4-3 after C Christian Correa singled home DH Christopher Colabello (2-for-5) in the sixth but the Saltdogs tied things back up at 4-4 in the eighth after CF Nick Schulz (2-for-5) singled to score pinch runner Kyle Kinman. The score remained level until the 11th. There, 1B Casey Gillaspie (2-for-5) hit a lead-off single and took second when Correa bounced out. With first base open, Lincoln intentionally walked LF Danny Mars, setting the stage for Carrizales to hit his first homer of the year and end the game.
RF Josh Mazzola went 3-for-5 for the Saltdogs and hit his fourth homer of the year.
Gary SouthShore 3, St. Paul 2 – Box Score
The Gary SouthShore RailCats walked off on the St. Paul Saints 3-2 thanks to 1B Randy Santiesteban’s ninth inning single.
The Saints broke the ice in the top of the fourth as DH Brady Shoemaker doubled home CF Dan Motl but that lead only lasted until the fifth when Santiesteban (4-for-5) singled home 2B Andy DeJesus (2-for-4) for the first time. DeJesus gave the RailCats their first lead in the sixth by with an RBI single that scored 3B Hayden Schilling.
RF Matt Lang tied the score again in the seventh with a single that allowed Motl to touch the plate again.
In the ninth, DeJesus hit a lead-off single, took second when SS Marcus Mooney was hit by a pitch and third when LF Abel Arocho was walked. Santiesteban ended the game with a single to score DeJesus.
Fargo-Moorhead 3, Milwaukee 1 – Box Score
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks became the first team to 60 wins in 2019 with a 3-1 win against the Milwaukee Milkmen.
The RedHawks took the lead in the top of the third when C Wilfredo Gimenez scored after RF Tim Colwell (2-for-4) singled. Colwell scored in the fifth after a 1B Chris Jacobs (3-for-5) single and Jacobs added another RBI in the seventh with a ground rule double that scored 2B Devan Ahart (3-for-5).
Milwaukee scored its only run in the bottom of the ninth when C Christ Conley (2-for-3) drew a bases-loaded walk.
Starting pitcher Ryan Williams earned the win for the RedHawks as he went eight scoreless innings, giving up six hits and striking out six batters.
Sioux Falls 6, Texas 4 – Box Score
The Sioux Falls Canaries held off the Texas AirHogs to pick up a 6-4 win at home on Friday evening.
The Canaries scored first as RF Clint Coulter (2-for-4) doubled home 2B Alay Lago in the second inning and the AirHogs leveled the score in the fifth when 3B Matt Dean (2-for-4) scored on a wild pitch. The Canaries took the lead for good in the bottom of the frame as LF Mike Hart scored on a wild pitch and, three pitches later, DH Burt Reynolds singled home 3B Kevin Taylor (2-for-4). Reynolds scored in the next at-bat when C Graham Low singled.
Coulter added a solo home run in the sixth and Hart scored later in the inning when Taylor singled. The AirHogs pulled two runs back in the seventh thanks to RBIs from 2B Erik Manoah Jr. (2-for-4) and RF Du Nan (2-for-4), and scored again in the ninth but couldn’t pull any closer.
Sioux City 7, Cleburne 4 – Box Score
The Sioux City Explorers jumped off to a hot start and knocked off the Cleburne Railroaders 7-4.
The Explorers set the tone in the bottom of the first inning with back-to-back-to-back RBIs from RF Jeremy Hazelbaker (2-for-5), DH Dexture McCall and LF Sebastian Zawada (2-for-3). The Explorers proceed to add a single run in each of the next four innings to take a commanding 7-0 lead. In the sixth, LF Angel Reyes doubled to score SS Daniel Robertson (2-for-5) and then scored when 2B Ryan Brett (2-for-3) doubled and in the eighth, Robertson scored on a sac fly from C John Nester and Brett doubled home 3B Chase Simpson.
For the Explorers, CF Kyle Wren went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored and both SS Nate Samson and 1B Adam Sasser each added a pair of hits.
Chicago 6, Winnipeg 1 – Box Score
The Chicago Dogs racked up 16 hits on the way to a 6-1 win against the Winnipeg Goldeyes.
Nine different Dogs recorded at least one hit on the game including 2B Edwin Arroyo and 1B Trey Vavra who each had a trio of hits. Arroyo had a pair of RBIs and Vavra scored three times for Dogs. CF David Olmedo-Barrera pitched in a pair of hits with two RBIs and a run scored and both DH Keon Barnum and RF Tony Rosselli each added two hits.
The Dogs pitching staff held the Goldeyes to just four hits and two of those – and the team’s lone RBI – came from CF Reggie Abercrombie.
