Sioux Falls 6, St. Paul 2Box

Sioux Falls scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and tacked on two more runs in the seventh and eighth as the Canaries downed the St. Paul Saints, 6-2. Sioux Falls 2B Michael Wing and 1B David Bergin led the way as the duo combined to go 5-for-7 at the plate with four runs scored and three RBI. Canaries RF RJ Perucki chipped in with three hits and RF Jason Repko had two hits in four at-bats with a run scored and a RBI. Sioux Falls starting pitcher Jeremy Strawn earned the win as he tossed six innings giving up two earned runs on six hits.

Joplin 11, Winnipeg 4Box

With the score tied 2-2 after two innings, the Joplin Blasters scored seven big runs in the third to take a 9-2 lead and would go on to win by the score of 11-4 over the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Joplin tallied 14 hits in the game with eight batters in their lineup collecting at least one. Blasters 1B Carlos Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI while RF Steven Tinoco had a 2-for-5 game with a walk, a run scored and two RBI. Joplin SS Maikol Gonzalez also had two hits, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Blasters starter Nestor Molina notched the victory as he gave up two earned runs on three hits in 5 2/3 innings pitched. Molina is now 2-1 on the year.
