Sioux Falls 4, Gary SouthShore 3 (10 Innings) – Box
Sioux Falls 1B Aaron Gretz doubled home LF Burt Reynolds with the game winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Canaries defeated Gary SouthShore in a walk-off, 4-3.
The RailCats jumped out in front 2-0 in the first inning thanks to a RBI single by RF Colin Willis and a run scoring double by 1B Alex Crosby. Sioux Falls cut the deficit to 2-1 in the second on a RBI groundout by CF Dan Motl. The Canaries added a single run in the fifth to tie the contest at 2-2 before each team scored a run in the seventh to make it 3-3. The score would stay that way until the 10th when Gretz brought Reynolds home with the deciding run and giving Sioux Falls the win.
Canaries pitcher Josh Ferrell tossed a scoreless inning of relief to notch his second win of the year. Ferrell gave up a walk and a hit in the five batters faced.
Lincoln 7, Fargo-Moorhead 4 – Box
The Lincoln Saltdogs turned 13 hits into seven runs as they defeated the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks by the score of 7-4. Eight Lincoln batters recorded at least one hit in the contest and four of them had multi-hit games. Saltdogs 3B Tommy Mendonca went 2-for-3 with a home run and three runs scored while C Dashenko Ricardo and RF Randolph Oduber each added a pair of hits. Lincoln 1B Trever Adams also launched a second inning two-run home run and drove in three runs.
Saltdogs starting pitcher Seth Webster allowed three earned runs over seven innings pitched to win his second game of the season. Webster gave up four hits and struck out three batters. For Fargo-Moorhead in the loss, C Charlie Valerio went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run.
Texas 4, Winnipeg 2 – Box
Texas scored single runs in the eighth and ninth innings to break a 2-2 tie and defeat the Winnipeg Goldeyes by a final of 4-2. The AirHogs pounded out 14 hits in the game and was led by DH Levi Scott who went 4-for-5 with a double, a run scored and a RBI. Texas CF Trevor Sealey and 3B Ryan Wagner each had three hits and a run scored while 1B Jake Taylor added a pair of hits and drove in a run. AirHogs pitcher T.J. Bozeman tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win and improve his record to 2-1 on the season. Bozeman gave up a hit and a walk and fanned two batters.
Cleburne 9, Salina 4 – Box
Cleburne 1B Geraldo Valentin launched a three-run home run in the third inning to highlight a four-run rally as the Railroaders took home a 9-4 victory over the Salina Stockade. Valentin drove in four runs on the night with 3B Brandon Tierney and LF Oscar Mesa each chipping in three hits and scoring a combined three runs. Cleburne C Ermindo Escobar also added a 2-for-5 game with two runs scored. Railroaders pitcher Alberto Rodriguez threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Rodriguez allowed only two hits and struck out three batters to move his record to 2-1 on the season.
