DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that St. Paul Saints’ C Tony Caldwell (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending June 19th.
This week, Caldwell hit .500 (9-for-18) with four home runs, 12 RBI and seven runs scored. The Auburn University product’s week was highlighted on June 18 in a 11-5 at Winnipeg where he went 4-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI. Yesterday, Caldwell helped the Saints sweep Winnipeg as he blasted his third home run in the past two days going 2-for-4 with three RBI in a 6-1 victory.
In 2011, Caldwell was drafted in the 24th round of the MLB Draft by the Florida Marlins reaching the A level in 2012. Currently, he is batting .419 (18-for-43) with five home runs and has 19 RBI for the Saints.
As of today, St. Paul (22-9) is six games in first place in the North Division. Tonight, the Saints will take on the Sioux City Explorers at 7:00 PM from Mercy Field at Lewis and Clark Park. Select American Association games can be watched live for free on American Association TV.
