BENNETT HAS CONTRACT PURCHASED BY CHICAGO WHITE SOX

MOORHEAD, MINN. – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have sold the contact of OF T.J. Bennett to the Chicago White Sox, the American Association announced. Bennett is the 25th American Association player to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization in 2018.

Bennett signed with the Lincoln Saltdogs in 2018 following his release from the San Francisco Giants organization. In 57 games with the Saltdogs he batted .271 with 11 doubles, 11 home runs, 39 RBIs and 38 runs scored. Bennett was acquired by Fargo-Moorhead in November in a trade with Lincoln.

Bennett began his professional career in 2014 with the Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League before moving on to the Schaumburg Boomers of the Frontier League and the Joplin Miners of the American Association in 2015. He signed with the Giants for 2016 and appeared at four levels that season with Augusta (A), San Jose (High-A), Richmond (Double-A) and Sacramento (Triple-A). Bennett was back at San Jose, Richmond and Sacramento for stints in 2017 as well.
