AMBERSON NAMED HITTER OF THE WEEK

DURHAM, NC – The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Wichita Wingnuts OF David Amberson (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Batter of the Week.

 

Amberson slugged his way to the American Association’s weekly hitting award by going 14-for-24 at the plate (.583) with a home run and seven RBI. The Wingnuts outfielder also hit three doubles and one triple over seven games. His best performance came just last night against the St. Paul Saints. Amberson was 4-for-5 and just a home run shy of hitting for the cycle. The Western Oregon University product drove in three runs and scored a pair in a Wingnuts victory.

 

After his exceptional offensive week, Amberson moved into seventh place in the American Association for batting average, with a .347 mark. Amberson was hitting .268 before the week started and has seen his average jump 79 points over the past seven games.
