Wichita 4, Kansas City 3 – Box
Wichita 3B Chris McClendon singled home CF Brent Clevlen with the go ahead run in the seventh inning as the Wingnuts beat the Kansas City T-Bones, 4-3. McClendon had two hits on the night along with a stolen base and two RBI. Wichita RF Taylor Oldham chipped in with two hits in two at-bats and had a walk. Wingnuts reliever Alex Hinshaw notched the victory as he tossed 2/3 of an inning and fanned two batters. Wichita closer Matt Nevarez gave up a hit in the ninth inning but finished off the game and notched his ninth save of the season.
Fargo-Moorhead 5, Lincoln 4 (Completion of Suspended Game from June 11th) – Box
In the completion of the suspended game from yesterday, the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks came from behind to defeat the Lincoln Saltdogs, 5-4. As play resumed in the bottom of the fourth inning, Fargo-Moorhead got a two-out RBI single from RF Anthony Kaskadden to tie the game at 2-2. The RedHawks would then take a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run home run by 1B C.J. Retherford. Fargo-Moorhead tacked on another run in the seventh to make it 5-2 and held off a late Lincoln rally to take the 5-4 win.
Lincoln 6, Fargo-Moorhead 4 (Regularly Scheduled Game – 7 Innings) – Box
The Lincoln Saltdogs scored four big runs in the fifth inning to take a 5-1 lead and would go on to win the regularly scheduled game 6-4 over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Lincoln CF Chad Mozingo went 2-for-4 at the plate with a run scored and three RBI while C Tyler Smith was a perfect 2-for-2 and scored a run. Saltdogs starting pitcher Marquis Fleming improved his record to 3-2 with the victory. Fleming went five innings giving up two earned runs on six hits and struck a batter. For Fargo-Moorhead in the loss, SS Zach Penprase collected two hits.
