Wichita 6, Winnipeg 5 – Box

The Wichita Wingnuts continue to roll along as they won their seventh in a row in a 6-5 decision over the Winnipeg Goldeyes. The 3-4 hitters of DH Brent Clevlen and T.J. Mittelstaedt did the most damage for Wichita tonight as they went a combined 4-for-7 at the plate with four extra base hits, three runs scored and three RBI. Wingnuts 2B Christian Stringer drew a pair of walks and plated two runs while C Martin Medina drove in a run in a 1-for-4 game. Wichita starter Jordan Cooper tossed five innings and picked-up his fourth win of the year. Cooper gave up three earned runs on nine hits and fanned two batters.

Fargo-Moorhead 7, Gary SouthShore 0 – Box

Fargo-Moorhead tallied five runs over the fifth and sixth innings to break open a close game and defeat Gary SouthShore by the score of 7-0. The RedHawks collected 11 hits as a team with four batters having multi-hit games. Fargo-Moorhead CF Devan Ahart led the way tonight going 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. RedHawks DH Chris Grayson also launched a home run along with three RBI while RF K.D. Kang added a pair of hits and two runs scored. Fargo-Moorhead starting pitcher Zach Prendergast tossed 7 2/3 solid innings to earn a victory in his first start with the team. Prendergast gave up three hits and three walks to go with five strikeouts.

Texas 5, Lincoln 4 – Box

Texas scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 5-3 lead and would go on to defeat the Lincoln Saltdogs by a score of 5-4. The AirHogs 1-2 hitters of 2B Alvaro Rondon and CF Casio Grider set the tone as the duo combined to go 4-for-7 at the plate with a home run (Grider), three runs scored and a RBI. Texas LF Brian Ragira added a triple and two RBI while 3B Ryan Wagner collected a pair of hits and scored a run. AirHogs starter Michael Freeman gave up three earned runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings of work to notch his second victory. Freeman walked six batters and struck out eight.

Salina 7, Cleburne 1 – Box

Shortstop Logan Trowbridge scored on an error by 3B Brandon Tierney in the fifth inning to give Salina the lead for good as the Stockade defeated Cleburne, 7-1. Trowbridge finished the night going 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI while C Jesse Baker had three hits in five at-bats and scored a run. Salina 3B Jordan Caillouet also chipped in a solo home run, his sixth of the season. Stockade starting pitcher Brian Smith threw seven solid innings of work to earn his first win of the year. Smith gave up an unearned run on four hits with three strikeouts.

St. Paul 12, Sioux City 1 – Box

It was all St. Paul in this one as the Saints pounded out 18 hits and rolled to a 12-1 victory over Sioux City. St. Paul had six players with multi-hit games including LF Anthony Gallas who went 3-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored and three RBI. Saints CF Kes Carter also added a three-hit night, including a home run, with two runs scored and a pair of RBI with DH Brady Shoemaker chipping in two hits and two runs. St. Paul starting pitcher Mark Hamburger received plenty of run support tonight in picking up his league leading eighth victory of the year. Hamburger allowed an earned run on five hits in seven innings pitched.

Sioux Falls 4, Kansas City 1 – Box

The Sioux Falls Canaries scored three runs in the fourth inning to take a 3-0 lead and would cruise from there to a 4-1 win over the red-hot Kansas City T-Bones. Eight of the nine batters in the Sioux Falls lineup picked up at least a hit including SS Blake Schmit who went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Canaries C Michael Falsetti and 2B Brett Marr each drove in a run tonight while 1B Chris Jacobs, LF Ty Morrison and 3B Louis Mele all plated a run. Sioux Falls starter Troy Marks threw five solid innings en route to his third victory of the season. Marks allowed an earned run on four hits and had two strikeouts. For Kansas City in the losing effort, 1B Kyle Petty went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and drove in their only run.
