Laredo 7, Newark 0
The Laredo Lemurs got the best of the Newark Bears in the latest interleague match-up between the Can-Am League and the American Association. The Lemurs would ride a fantastic pitching performance by Fabian Williamson to the 7-0 win.
Williamson threw a complete game shutout to lead his team to the victory while giving up just two hits throughout the entire game as well as giving up zero walks. He picked up his fifth win of the season.
On the offensive side, the Lemurs were equally effective. They totaled ten hits in the game. DH John Alonso had a particularly good night, going 2-4 with a homer, four RBIs, and two runs.
El Paso 5, Grand Prairie 2
The AirHogs would jump out to a quick lead in the top of the first inning but would eventually lose that, scoring only once more to fall to the Diablos 5-2.
El Paso had no lack of offensive output, with the team managing 15 hits in the game. 3B Devin Thaut and LF Rogelio Noris led the team at the plate. Thaut went 4-5 with a run and an RBI, while Noris went 3-4 with a run and RBI.
Kevin Cooper picked up his first win for the Diablos this season after throwing five innings and limiting the AirHogs to just five hits and two runs. He struck out one batter and walked none.
