WALK OFF WALK ENDS IT IN CLEBURNE

Cleburne 3, Sioux Falls 2- Box Score

The Cleburne Railroaders won on a bases loaded walk-off walk in the bottom of the 10th of a 3-2 game against the Sioux Falls Canaries on Tuesday.

Trevor Sealy hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second to give the Railroaders a 1-0 lead. Cleburne added one in the second to make it 2-0.

The Railroaders held onto the two run lead until the top of the ninth when Blake Schmit hit a two-run double to tie the game. However, the Canaries would load the bases and walk in the winning run in the bottom of the tenth to fall to Cleburne.

Shawn Blackwell (3-4) was awarded the win.

With the win, the Railroaders improved to 13-22 overall while the Canaries fell to 12-23.

 

Gary SouthShore 6, Chicago 2- Box Score

The Gary SouthShore Railcats bounced back from yesterday’s one-run loss to defeat the Chicago Dogs 6-2 on Tuesday.

The Railcats struck early when Andy Dejesus hit a two-run home run (4) in the top of the first. Though the Dogs managed to tie the game, scoring on in the bottom of the first on an RBI double by Trey Vavra and one in the second on a sacrifice fly by Matt Telesco.

The Game would remain tied as Gary SouthShore’s starter, Lars Liguori, and Chicago’s starter, Josh Goosen-Brown dueled it out through 5.2 and 7.1 respective innings of work.

The Railcats broke the tie in the top of the ninth with a lead-off home run by Randy Santiestiban. Gary SouthShore would go on to score three more runs in the inning to seal the victory.

Gabe Perez (1-0) was awarded the win after pitching 2.1 scoreless innings of relief.

 

Fargo-Moorhead 9, Texas 4- Box Score

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks used a four run third inning to help themselves to a 9-4 win over the Texas AirHogs on Tuesday.

With the score tied 1-1 in the bottom of the third, the RedHawks went walk, single, walk to load the bases before recording out number one. Then, with one out, Leobaldo Pina hit a two-run double to give Fargo-Moorhead the lead. In the next at bat, Chris Jacobs scored on a wild pitch and Tim Colwell hit a sacrifice fly to give the RedHawks what proved to be the go-ahead run.

Fargo-Moorhead’s starter, Reese Gregory (2-1), was awarded the win after giving up four runs (two earned) in five innings of work.

Casio Grider led the AirHogs, going 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.

Kansas City 7, Lincoln 0- Box Score

The Kansas City T-Bones cruised to a 7-0 win over the Lincoln Saltdgos on Tuesday.

Scott Carroll (3-0) tossed the first six scoreless innings for the T-Bones and Hunter Adkins finished off the final three frames to earn the save (1).

The game was tied until the bottom of the fifth when Nick Torres hit a three-run home run (2) to make it 3-0 Kansas City. The T-Bones would go on to add four more runs in the bottom of the seventh with one coming via a Taylor Featherston (1) home run.

With the win, Kansas City improved to 22-13 overall, while the Saltdogs fell to 22-15.

 

Sioux City 5, St. Paul 2- Box Score

The Sioux City Explorers scored all of their runs in the top of the eighth to defeat the St. Paul Saints 5-2 on Tuesday.

The Saints led 2-0 after picking up RBI singles by Noah Perio Jr. in the bottom of the first and Anthony Phillips in the bottom of the seventh.

The Explorers, which left the bases loaded in the seventh, finally broke through in the eighth, scoring five runs on five hits. The deciding hit proved to be Jay Baum’s two-out three-run double.

Ryan Flores (3-0) was awarded the win and Eric Karch pitched the final 1.2 innings to earn the save (5).

With the win, the Explorers improved to 28-10 overall, while the Saints fell to 20-17

Wichita 9, Winnipeg 8- Box Score

The Wichita Wingnuts held onto an early lead to defeat the Winnipeg Goldeyes 9-8 on Tuesday.

The Wingnuts scored all nine of their runs in the first three innings to grab a 9-1 lead. Winnipeg pushed back though scoring four in the sixth, with three coming via a Josh Mazzola home run. Mazzola drove in another run in the next inning and Josh Romanski hit a sole home run in the eighth to cut the lead to one. However the Wichita bullpen would settle down and pitch a scoreless ninth to secure the win.

Wingnuts’ starter, Casey Harman (5-1) was awarded the win after giving up one unearned run in five innings of work. Daniel Tillman pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save.

Logan Watkins (2 doubles), Zach Nehrir , John Nester, and Ryne Willard all had doubles in Wichita’s 17 hit onslaught.

With the win, the Wingnuts improved to 24-13 overall, while the Goldeyes fell to 19-18.
