T-BONES WALK OFF AFTER 5-RUN NINTH INNING

Kansas City 7, Sioux Falls 6 – Box Score

The Kansas City T-Bones overcame a four-run deficit in the bottom of the ninth inning to walk off on the Sioux Falls Canaries 7-6.

The T-Bones were trailing 6-2 heading into the final frame and after a single from 3B Mason Davis, LF Casey Gillaspie bounced out to leave the home team with just two outs to work with. C Roy Morales singled in the next at-bat to plate Davis, and after RF Tyler Marincov drew a walk, CF Danny Mars (2-for-3) homered to tie the score with a three-run shot.

3B/P Ramsey Romano (who also earned the win on the mound for working the ninth inning) drew a walk after Mars’ moon shot and then scored when SS Shawn O’Malley lifted a sac fly to left field to end the game.

For the Canaries, SS Andrew Ely went 4-for-5 with two runs scored to lead the way.

 

Sioux City 4, Lincoln 3 (11 Innings) – Box Score

The Sioux City Explorers slid past the Lincoln Saltdogs 4-3 in 11 Innings on Wednesday evening.

The game was tied 3-3 after nine innings and both teams went down in order in the first extra frame. In the top of the 11th, RF Jeremy Hazelbaker hit a lead-off single and took second as LF Justin Felix sacrificed. 2B Drew Stankiewicz was intentionally walked and then 1B/3B Dexture McCall drew a walk to load up the bases. Hazelbaker scored the eventual game-winner when 1B/LF Adam Sasser reached on a fielder’s choice.

SS Christian Ibarra drew a lead-off walk in the bottom of the 11th but the rest of the Saltdogs went down in order to end the game.

No Explorer had more than one hit but CF Forrestt Allday, 3B Josh Mazola and LF Randolph Oduber each had a pair of hits for the Saltdogs.

 

Winnipeg 5, Gary SouthShore 2 – Box Score

The Winnipeg Goldeyes (39-28) scored five runs in the top of the eighth to drop the Gary SouthShore RailCats 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon.

The RailCats opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth when C Wilfredo Gimenez singled home DH John Price Jr. In the fifth, Price Jr. reached on an error to allow 3B Will Savage to score. In the top of the eighth, C Kevin Garcia scored on a wild pitch and, two pitches later, LF James Harris singled to score RF Tyler Hill (2-for-4) and tie the game.

3B Dominic Ficociello doubled home Harris two batters later and then he scored alongside 1B Kyle Martin when CF Reggie Abercrombie doubled to cap the rally.

 

Fargo-Moorhead 8, Chicago 3 – Box Score

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (45-25) took control early and never trailed on the way to an 8-3 win against the Chicago Dogs.

The RedHawks saw 11 hits from seven different batters in the game and were led by RF Tim Colwell’s 3-for-4 performance. Colwell had two doubles, scored twice and had three RBIs. 2B T.J. Bennett and 3B Leobaldo Pina each added a pair of hits and a run scored. C Brian Olson went 1-for-2 with a pair of runs scored.

For the Dogs, CF David Olmedo-Barrera went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs and 1B Keon Barnum added a pair of hits.

Starting pitcher Tyler Pike went six innings and allowed two runs on four hits while striking out eight batters as he earned the win.

 

St. Paul 8, Milkmen 1 – Box Score

The St. Paul Saints (43-26) rolled to an 8-1 win against the Milwaukee Milkmen to pick up their third win in a row.

The Saints moved in front with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning thanks to an RBI double from 2B Josh Allen (2-for-3) and a sac fly from LF Blake Schmit. DH Brady Shoemaker (2-for-3) added a lead-off home run in the third and he added another RBI single in the fourth. The Saints put the game well out of reach with a four-run rally in the sixth that saw an RBI single from CF Dan Motl (4-for-4), a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch and a two-RBI double from 3B Chesny Young (2-for-4).

The Milkmen’s lone run came in the eighth when LF Riley Pittman (2-for-4) singled home SS Sam Dexter (2-for-4).

Saints starter Eddie Medina went seven strong innings as he earned the win. He allowed just four hits while striking out eight batters.

 

Cleburne 8, Texas 5 – Box Score

The Cleburne Railroaders (41-27) rallied late to top the Texas AirHogs 8-5.

The Railroaders took the early lead as C John Nester doubled home two runs in the top of the first inning and then scored when RF Hunter Clanin (2-for-4) singled. The AirHogs tied things up with a pair of runs in the fourth – one on a wild pitch and another on a sac fly from SS John Prince – and then took the lead in the fifth thanks to a home run from RF Stewart Ijames (2-for-5). C Stephen Haviar bounced out to second to allow CF Javion Randle to score later in the inning.

In the sixth, LF Nick Rotola singled home two runs to tie things back up and then Rotola scored when DH Angel Reyes singled. The Railroaders added two more runs in the eighth when SS Daniel Robertson (2-for-5) singled home Clanin and 3B Logan Trowbridge to put the game away.

 

Texas 4, Cleburne 3 (8 Innings) – Box Score

The Texas AirHogs (16-52) came back in the second game of their doubleheader with the Cleburne Railroaders to take a 4-3 win in eighth innings.

Cleburne scored first when RF Hunter Clanin (2-for-4) singled to plate SS Daniel Robertson in the top of the first but the AirHogs leveled the score in the bottom of the second when RF Li Ning (2-for-4) doubled home C Stephen Haviar (2-for-3). Clanin hit a two-run home run in the top of the third but the AirHogs drew one back in the bottom half as CF Javion Randle bounced out to plate 1B Stewart Ijames (2-for-4).

Ning singled home Haviar in the fourth to tie the score once again and the score held there through the scheduled seven innings. In the eighth, Haviar plated the game-winning run as his singled pushed pinch runner Song Yunqi across the plate.
