T-BONES EARN SERIES SPLIT WITH WIN IN FINALE

Kansas City 11, Sioux City 5 – Box 

The T-Bones shook off two straight losses to the Explorers to beat them 11-5 in the series finale on Sunday, splitting the series at two games apiece. The T-Bones rode three multi-run innings to victory. LF Kyle Petty played a big role in his team’s success, collecting four hits, scoring three runs, knocking in three RBIs and smashing a home run. RF Chantz Mack also had a multi-hit game in the victory and contributed three RBIs. DH Tyler Horan was 3-5 with a RBI and three runs scored for the T-Bones. 1B Dre Gleason impressed in the loss, collecting three hits for the Explorers. Five pitchers were used by the T-Bones in the win, with RHP Gabe Perez earning the win. Perez (5-3) went 5.1 innings, allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and also struck out six batters.

Winnipeg 6, Gary 0 – Box

One day after falling to the Railcats, the Goldeyes stormed back to shut out their opponents on Sunday. The win, which was their 26th of the season, gave the Goldeyes the series win, having taken three out of four against the Railcats. The Goldeyes rode home runs from DH David Bergin and 2B Mason Katz to the win on the afternoon. Bergin finished 1-4 with two RBIs and hit his 14th home run of the year. Katz was even better, going 3-4 and knocking in two runs while smashing his fifth home run of the year. LHP Zack Dodson was impressive in the victory, throwing seven shutout innings. Dodson (3-3) allowed four hits and one walk while striking out six batters.
