SIX-RUN FOURTH LEADS LAREDO TO WIN OVER WICHITA

Laredo 14, Wichita 5 – Box

Laredo scored six big runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to erase a 4-2 deficit and defeat Wichita by a 14-5 score. The Lemurs had 19 hits in the game, with seven batters having at least two. Laredo DH Jeudy Valdez was the star tonight at the plate going 3-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored and five RBI. Lemurs 3B Juan Silverio collected three hits, including a home run and scored four times while CF Ty Morrison added three hits, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs. Laredo pitcher Ryan Beckman tossed four innings of relief to notch the win. Beckman allowed a run on three hits and walked one. Beckman is now 3-0 on the year.

St. Paul 12, Lincoln 4 – Box

After trailing 1-0 through 2 ½ innings, the St. Paul Saints scored 10 runs over the next three innings and rolled to a 12-4 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs. St. Paul 3B Ryan Lashley led the way offensively going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, a triple, four runs scored and a RBI. Saints RF Mike Kvasnicka had a 2-for-4 night with two runs scored and four RBI and CF Alonzo Harris and LF Willie Argo each collected three hits. St. Paul starter Dustin Crenshaw picked up his league leading 10th win of the season. Crenshaw allowed four runs, all earned, on eight hits in seven innings pitched.
