SP Carlos Sierra (5 innings), RHP Nate Gercken (2 innings), RHP Ryan Flores (1 inning), and RHP Matt Pobereyko combined to shutout the Milwaukee Milkmen Sunday.
In the start, Sierra walked two and struckout four while allowing two hits.
DH Dexture McCall paced the Sioux City Explorers offensively, going 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs.
LF Sebastian Zawada also homered for the Explorers.
Chicago 2, Sioux Falls 1-Box Score
The Chicago Dogs scored two in the top of the eighth to top the Sioux Falls Canaries Sunday.
The Canaries took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh when C Graham Low hit a solo home run.
Dogs’ LF Tony Roselli delivered a two-run home run in the top of the eighth to score the go-ahead run for Chicago
Sioux Falls’ SP Taylor Hill took the loss despite giving up just two earned on four hits while going the distance.
Chicago’s SP Luke Wesphal earned the win after tossing six scoreless innings. RHP Kyle Halbohn pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save.
Kansas City 5, Texas 1-Box Score
The Texas AirHogs took a 1-0 lead on an RBI single by C Stephen Haviar in the top of the fourth.
The Kansas City T-Bones answered, scoring two in the following frame with one coming on an RBI double by 3B Taylor Sparks and the other coming on a sac-fly by CF Mason Davis.
The T-Bones scored two more on inning later on a home run by LF Casey Gillsaspie and added another insurance run in the bottom of the eighth.
SP Kenny Koplove earned the win after surrendering just one run in five innings of work.
