SIMPSON HITS FOR THE CYCLE IN WINGNUTS WIN

Wichita 11, Gary SouthShore 1- Box Score

The Wichita Wingnuts turned 17 hits into 11 runs against the Gary SouthShore RailCats on Saturday.

Chase Simpson (4-for-5) hit for the cycle while driving in four runners for the Wingnuts. Tony Thomas (3-for-5) and Angel Reyes (2-for-5) also homered for Wichita while Logan Watkins and Nick Rotola also tripled.

Jordan Cooper (8-5) was awarded the win after giving up just one earned run in six innings of work.

 

Winnipeg 3, Chicago 1 (F/7)- Box Score

Tyler Herron led the Winnipeg Goldeyes to a 3-1 win over the Chicago Dogs on Saturday.

Herron (2-3) gave up just one earned run while pitching all seven innings of the shortened game.

Matt McCann, Josh Mazzola and Tucker Nathans drove in a runner each for the Goldeyes.

Tony Roselli paced the Dogs, going 3-for-3 at the dish with a double and one RBI.

 

Cleburne 8, Fargo-Moorhead 5- Box Score

The Cleburne Railroaders picked up their third straight win on Saturday, beating the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 8-5.

Trevor Sealey had a night to remember for the Railroaders going 4-for-4 with one home run and two RBIs. Angelo Gumbs (1 RBI), Levi Scott (2), Hunter Clanin (1), Patrick Palmeiro (1), and Alex Polston (1) also batted in runners for Cleburne, which scored seven of their eight runs in the first two innings.

Chris Jacobs (2-for-4) paced the RedHawks with two runs scored and an RBI.

 

Lincoln 5, Sioux Falls 2- Box Score

The Lincoln Saltdogs edged the Sioux Falls Canaries by a score of 5-2 on Saturday.

Alex Glenn carried the Saltdogs at the plat with his 2-for-4 one home run four RBI performance. Christian Ibarra also hit a solo home run for Lincoln.

The Canaries outhit the Saltdogs 10 to 6, but Saltdogs’ starter Joe Bircher (3-4) scattered the 10 hits for just two earned runs.

 

St. Paul 10, Kansas City 2- Box Score

The St. Paul Saints collected 17 hits in a win over the Kansas City T-Bones on Saturday.

Max Murphy, Zach Walters, Dante Bichette Jr. and Nathaniel Maggio all had three hits for the Saints. Walters also homered and drove in three runners.

Alay Lago hit a solo home run for the T-Bones.

Eddie Medina was awarded the win after giving up just two earned in 6.1 innings of work.

 

Sioux City 14, Texas 1- Box Score

The Sioux City Explorers’ offense exploded in a win over the Texas AirHogs on Saturday.

Dylan Kelly (3-for-4) led the charge, ending the night a single shy of the cycle while batting in four runners. Dexture McCall (2-for-4) also tripled and drove in two runners. Daniel Jackson and Blake Schmit had two RBIs as well.

James Dykstra (7-2) allowed one earned run in six innings of work to earn the win.
