MACK, T-BONES TOP GOLDEYES

Kansas City

Kansas City 4, Winnipeg 1 – Box

The T-Bones wasted no time in taking the lead on Saturday night, moving ahead in the first thanks to a lead-0ff home run from RF Chantz Mack. The Goldeyes tied it in the third, but a solo shot from 1B Kyle Petty gave the T-Bones the lead again in the fourth. The T-Bones added two more runs in the eighth inning to take a 4-1 lead, which they would hold. RHP Cody Winiarski pitched a scoreless ninth to nail the door shut and earn his 12th save of the season. RHP Chris Perry earned the win, allowing a run on three hits in six innings and striking out four batters in the process.

St Paul 5, Salina 3 – Box

The Saints came back from a 2-0 deficit to edge the Stockade 5-3 on Saturday night, as they picked up their 33rd win of the year. The Stockade hit two solo home runs, including a blast from 3B Cody Coffman to take a 2-0 lead in the fourth, but the lead did not hold for long. The Saints promptly tied the game in the bottom of the frame and then took the lead in the fifth thanks to a RBI single from 3B Nate Hansen. In the sixth, DH Brady Shoemaker put the exclamation point on the win, hitting a two-run home run. The blast was his 15th long ball of the season. RHP Ryan Zimmerman earned the win, going 5.1 innings to pick up his fourth win of the year. Zimmerman allowed two runs on six hits and struck out four batters.

Sioux Falls 10, Texas 4 – Box

With the Canaries up 4-3 entering the ninth, they exploded for a six-run inning to take a commanding lead en route to a 10-4 victory. The runs proved to be important, as the Airhogs scored their fourth run in the final frame that would have tied the game prior to the six runs being scored. LF Ty Morrison had the big bat for the Canaries, providing a two-run single in the ninth and finishing 3-6 with a run scored. DH Jabari Henry also collected three hits in the win and scored twice. RHP Miles Nordgren pitched six strong innings to earn his fourth win of the year. Nordgren allowed three runs on nine hits and struck out three batters in the win. RHP Andrew Woeck pitched the last two frames to earn the save, allowing a run in the process.

Fargo-Moorhead 4, Cleburne 0 – Box

The Redhawks shut out the Railroaders on Saturday night, thanks to a fantastic pitching performance from RHP Cody McPartland. McPartland (1-0) shutout the Railroaders over nine innings while striking out two batters and only allowing four hits. The Redhawks took a 1-0 lead in the first and then added to the lead in the sixth with a two-run home run from RF K.D. Kang. Kang’s shot was his seventh of the season. While the Redhawks did not need to add any more scoring, they did score a fourth run in the eighth on a RBI ground-rule double from Kang. Kang finished the game 2-4 with three RBIs and a run scored.

Lincoln 10, Wichita 1 – Box

The Saltdogs topped the Wingnuts on Saturday to win their 10th game in their last 11 contests. They tied the Wingnuts for the top record in the league in the process. Three players hit home runs in the win, with Nathaniel Maggio and RF Randolph Oduber hitting back-to-back solo shots in the fourth to extend the lead to 6-1. This came on the heels of a four-run third inning. Three more runs were added over the fifth and sixth innings and a tenth run was scored in the eighth as the Saltdogs topped the Wingnuts 10-1. Oduber collected two hits and scored three times in the win. RHP Brian McAfee picked up the win, throwing eight strong innings of one-run ball to earn his fourth win of the year.

Sioux City 6, Gary Southshore 4 (Final – 12 innings) – Box

It took extra innings to decide this contest, with the Explorers finally emerging victorious after three extra frames. DH LeVon Washington was the hero, blasting a two-run home run to lift the Explorers over the Railcats. It was his fourth home run of the season and his third RBI of the game. LF Jayce Ray also had a big day in the win, collecting three hits, scoring twice and knocking in a run. Five pitchers were used by the Explorers in the win, with RHP Brad Orosey earning the win. Orosey pitched the last two innings and picked up two strikeouts to earn his third win of the year.
