Lincoln 5, Kansas City 2 – Box

The Lincoln Saltdogs continue to stay red hot as they win their ninth game in a row, beating Kansas City by the score of 5-2. With the score 1-0 Lincoln through two innings of play, the Saltdogs put the contest away with a pair of runs in the third and fourth innings to give themselves a 5-1 advantage. Lincoln CF Matty Johnson led the way at the plate going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a RBI. Saltdogs DH Curt Smith had two hits in four at-bats and two RBI while 2B Cesar Valera doubled, scored a run and drove in one. Lincoln starter Robby Rowland tossed five solid innings to earn the win and improve his record to 2-1 on the season. Rowland allowed an earned run on three hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

Fargo-Moorhead 7, Sioux Falls 6 – Box

First baseman Trever Adams launched a two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give Fargo-Moorhead the lead for good as they went on to defeat Sioux Falls by a 7-6 score. Adams had two hits on the night with two runs scored and two RBI while C Charlie Valerio added a home run and two RBI. In total, the RedHawks had four home runs in the contest. Fargo-Moorhead pitcher Tyler Thompson threw 2 1/3 innings of relief and picked-up his third win of the year. Thompson allowed an earned run on three hits while striking out five in the 11 batters faced. For Sioux Falls, LF Ty Morrison went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI.

Salina 8, Sioux City 3 – Box

With the score 2-1 Salina after three innings of play, the Stockade took full control of the contest scoring three runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth to take an 8-2 lead and would go on to defeat Sioux City by an 8-3 score. Salina collected 12 hits as team with four batters having multi-hit games. Stockade C Jesse Baker had a terrific night at the plate going 3-for-4 with two home runs, three runs scored and three RBI. Salina 3B Cody Coffman had two hits in four at-bats along with three runs scored and two RBI while leadoff hitter Roche Woodard added a double and drove in a run. Stockade starting pitcher Jared Koenig allowed an earned run in eight innings of work to win his first outing of the season. Koenig gave up four walks and five hits and struck out four batters.

Texas 9, Wichita 3 – Box

The Texas AirHogs scored five runs in the fourth inning to take a 9-1 lead and would never look back en route to a 9-3 victory over Wichita. Texas pounded out 13 hits in the contest with five players collecting two or more. AirHogs 1B Levi Scott went 2-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored and a RBI while RF Denis Phipps added three hits, three RBI and a run scored. Texas starting pitcher Billy Waltrip tossed five innings and earned his first win of the season. Waltrip gave up two earned runs on five hits with a pair of walks and 12 big strikeouts. For Wichita in the losing effort, RF Richard Prigatano went 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored.

Cleburne 6, Gary SouthShore 6 (Suspended/Rain – Bottom 11)

The game between Cleburne and Gary SouthShore was suspended due to rain with the score tied 6-6 in the bottom of the 11th inning. The game will be completed on Thursday, July 20 beginning at 12:10 p.m. The regularly scheduled game will follow the completion of the suspended game, and will be seven innings in length.
