MOORHEAD, MN.- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Lincoln Saltdogs’ LHP Kyle Kinman has been named the league’s Rawlings Pitcher of the Month for the month of June.
Kinman made six starts in June, going 1-1 with a 1.40 ERA and 36 strikeouts across 38.2 innings of work. The lefty tossed a gem against the Texas AirHogs on June 6, earning the win in a 4-1 victory in which he allowed just one unearned run on three hits and two walks over 7.2 innings of work. Kinman’s other marquee performance of the month came in a 2-1 win over the Milwaukee Milkmen on June 20. Though the 28-year-old didn’t factor in the decision, he fanned nine batters while allowing just one run in eight innings of work.
Kinman began his professional career in 2014 after being drafted in the 25th round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves. The lefty spent three seasons in the Braves’ organization, reaching Double-A twice before signing with Lincoln in 2018. In 2019, Kinman is 1-2 with a 2.81 ERA and 44 strikeouts across 48 innings of work.
