St. Paul 10, Kansas City 5 – Box Score
The St. Paul Saints (32-18) jumped off to a quick start and rolled to a 10-5 win against the Kansas City T-Bones.
LF John Silviano (2-for-6, 4 RBIs) kickstarted the game with a three-run home run four at-bats into the first inning and, three batters later, 1B Devon Rodriguez hit a two-run homer to give the Saints a 5-0 lead. Silviano added an RBI single in the fifth and RF Max Murphy (3-for-5) hit a solo shot (his 17th in 2019) in the sixth before the T-Bones found the scoreboard with a 3B Taylor Sparks grand slam in the bottom of the frame.
St. Paul added three more runs in the top of the seventh with three consecutive bases-loaded walks that help to put the game away.
Lincoln 9, Winnipeg 2 – Box Score
The Lincoln Saltdogs (23-27) pulled in front with four runs in the bottom of the third and never trailed from there as they topped the Winnipeg Goldeyes 9-2.
Both teams found the scoreboard in the second inning as 1B Kyle Martin lifted a sac fly for the Goldeyes and RF Nick Schulz doubled home DH Curt Smith (2-for-3, 5 RBIs). Earlier in the inning, 3B Josh Mazzola singled for his 700th career hit in the American Association. In the third, LF Randolph Oduber singled home a run and then scored alongside CF Forrsett Allday (2-for-5) when Smith homered.
The Goldeyes were held to just three hits in the game, one each from three different batters, and starter Shairon Martis picked up the win after throwing 6.2 innings and giving up two runs (one earned) on one hit while striking out six batters.
Cleburne 9, Milwaukee 1 – Box Score
The Cleburne Railroaders (27-22) gave a run in the bottom of the first inning but held the Milwaukee Milkmen off the board the rest of the way as they claimed a 9-1 win.
The Railroaders scored first as SS Daniel Robertson (3-for-5) scored as C John Nester bounced out in the top of the first. 2B Cesar Valera (2-for-4) tied the score in the bottom half of the frame as he scored when RF Jose Rosario grounded out. In the second, RF K.C. Huth (3-for-4) had an RBI single and Robertson followed him by clearing the bases with a double (and an error), scoring three runs in the process. 3B Chase Simpson (2-for-4) added a solo home run to cap a five-run inning.
Robertson tacked on a three-run home run in the eighth to give him five RBIs in the game.
Starting pitcher Eudis Idrogo took the win as he went seven innings and gave up one run on six hits while recording a pair of strikeouts.
Sioux Falls 12, Texas 1 – Box Score
The Sioux Falls Canaries (25-24) racked up 14 hits as they beat the Texas AirHogs 12-1.
Seven different Canaries recorded hits in the game and four of them had multi-hit games. 2B Alay Lago led the way as he went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored and four RBIs. SS Andrew Ely and LF Kevin Taylor also added three-hit performances. C Graham Low went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
3B Mitch Glasser also homered in the game, his third of the year.
For the AirHogs, OF Javion Randle went 3-for-4 with the team’s lone RBI.
Sioux City at Fargo-Moorhead – (Postponed/Rain)
The game between the Sioux City Explorers and the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as a part of a double header tomorrow, Wednesday July 10, beginning at 6:05 p.m. Central Time. Both games will be seven innings.
