St. Paul 7, Winnipeg 3 – Box Score

The St. Paul Saints never trailed on the way to a 7-3 win against the Winnipeg Goldeyes on Sunday afternoon at CHS Field.

The Saints took the lead in the top of the first as DH Chuck Taylor (2-for-4) singled home CF Mikey Reynolds and added to that lead in the second when 1B John Silviano hit a two-run homer. In the third, Taylor hit a lead-off homer to give the Saints a 4-0 lead. In the fifth, C Chris Chinea (2-for-4) hit a three-run shot to put the Saints in front 7-0.

The Goldeyes found the scoreboard in the seventh when C John Nester (2-for-4) singled to plate 1B Kyle Martin (2-for-4) and, later in the frame, LF Jordan George scored when RF Jonathan Moroney singled. George scored again in the ninth when Moroney bounced out to second but that proved to be the final run of the day.

Starting pitcher Mike Devine earned the win as he went 7.1 innings and allowed two runs on five hits while striking out 13 batters.

 

Sioux Falls 11, Chicago 9 – Box Score

The Canaries posed a six-run third inning and a five-run sixth to edge the Chicago Dogs 11-9 on Sunday at Sioux Falls Stadium.

The Canaries were down 6-0 heading into the bottom of the third but rallied to tie the score. SS Andrew Ely (3-for-5) hit a two-run homer, 1B Mike Hart (2-for-3) drew a bases-loaded walk and LF Ryan Brett hit a three-RBI triple to level the score at 6-6. The Dogs edged in front again in the top of the sixth as CF Michael Crouse (2-for-5) singled home SS Blake Allemand (2-for-4) but in the bottom half, 3B Damek Tomscha (2-for-5) singled to score Ely, 2B Alay Lago (2-for-5) singled to score C Clint Coulter and DH Jabari Henry (2-for-4) hit a three-run homer.

For the Dogs, DH Logan Moore (3-for-5), 3B Joey Terdoslavich (2-for-5), LF Tyler Ladendorf (2-for-5, 3 RBIs) and 2B Edwin Arroyo (2-for-3) each had strong outings at the plate.

The win secure the Canaries spot in the 2020 American Association Finals, where they will see the Milwaukee Milkmen.

 

Milwaukee 7, Fargo-Moorhead 4 – Box Score

The Milwaukee Milkmen used a hot start to top the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 7-4 on Sunday afternoon at Franklin Field.

The Milkmen plated four runs in the bottom of the first inning as LF Adam Brett Walker II (2-for-4) tripled to score 2B Dylan Tice and then scored on the same play thanks to an error. Later in the inning, 1B David Washington doubled home DH Jose Sermo (2-for-4) and then scored when RF Aaron Hill doubled. Milwaukee added three more runs including an RBI double from C Christian Correa and a sac fly from Walker II to stretch out the lead.

The RedHawks rallied briefly in the ninth, as DH Drew Ward (3-for-5) hit a two-run shot but that proved to be the final action of the day.

For the RedHawks, CF Forrestt Allday (2-for-3) and RF Alex Boxwell (2-for-4) also added homers.
