SAINTS’ MEDINA TOSSES SCORELESS WEEK TO EARN POINTSTREAK PITCHER OF THE WEEK AWARD

MOORHEAD, MN- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that St. Paul Saints’ RHP Eddie Medina has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 26, 2019.

Medina earned the award after pitching 12.1 scoreless innings over the past week, earning two wins and striking out 14 batters while allowing just 11 hits and three walks. The righty boasts a 2.00 ERA over three starts and 18 innings of work with the Saints in 2019,

Medina began his professional career in 2013 with the Las Vegas Train Robbers of the Pecos League. The St. John’s alum spent 2014 in the UNLB before moving on to the now defunct Wichita Wingnuts of the American Association in 2015. Medina spent two seasons with Wichita before joining St. Paul in 2018. Last season Medina put together his finest season as a professional, going 9-5 with a 2.80 ERA over 115.2 innings pitched.
