SAINTS’ ALLEN CLAIMS TEAM’S FOURTH STRAIGHT PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

MOORHEAD, MN- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that St. Paul Saints’ INF Josh Allen has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending July 14, 2019.

Allen earned the award after hitting .481 with one double, three home runs and six RBIs over the past seven games. The 28-year-old’s top performance of the week came in a 7-6 loss to the Winnipeg Goldeyes on July 8 where he went 3-for-4 at the dish with two home runs and four RBIs.

The Fort Meade, Florida native began his professional career in 2014 with the Evansville Otters (Frontier League) after playing one season at Division II University of West Florida. Allen spent four seasons with the Otters, winning league MVP in 2016. The former Argonaut hasn’t batted below .300 in independent ball since 2015; hitting .354 in 2016, .310 in 2017, .344 in 2018, and .308 so far in 2019. Allen is the fourth straight St. Paul player to win weekly honors.
