Fargo-Moorhead 3, Chicago 1 – Box Score
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks dropped the Chicago Dogs 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at Newman Outdoor Fiedl.
The RedHawks built an early 3-0 lead thanks to a pair of RBIs from CF Devan Ahart and one from 3B Leobaldo Pina. RF Tim Colwell and LF Brennan Metzger each added two hits for the RedHawks. For the Dogs, CF Kenny Wilson went 2-for-5 with the team’s lone RBI.
On the bump, starting pitcher Will Solomon earned the win for throwing seven innings and giving up one run on six hits while striking out seven batters. Reliever Randy McCurry picked up the save for striking out the side in the ninth inning.
Kansas City 7, Sioux City 5 – Box Score
After an eventful eight inning, the Kansas City T-Bones edged the Sioux City Explorers 7-5.
The T-Bones were leading 3-2 heading into the eighth inning but the Explorers took the lead as 2B Jay Baum hit a two-run home run and C Daniel Jackson added an RBI single later in the frame. In the bottom of the inning, LF Ryan Brett (2-for-5) tied things up with a double to left field that plated 2B Alay Lago (2-for-3) and SS Anthony Phillips.
3B Mason Davis plated the game-winning runs in then next at-bat with a single that push Brett and CF Keith Curcio. Curcio and RF Colin Walsh each homered in the game.
Lincoln 11, Texas 0 – Box Score
The Lincoln Saltdogs blanked the Texas AirHogs 11-0 on Sunday night at Haymarket Park.
The Satldogs’ pitching staff combined to hold the AirHogs to just two hits, one each CF Javion Randle and SS Casio Grider. Starting pitcher Joe Bircher earned the win for working six innings and allowing those two hits, no walks and he struck out eight batters.
Offensively, eight different Salltdogs recorded hits in the game. DH Curt Smith had a team-high three hits and also added a pair of RBIs. RF Randolph Oduber added three RBIs with a 2-for-5 performance and both LF Brandon Jacobs and 2B Cesar Valera also had a pair of hits. C Dashenko Ricardo went 1-for-3 with three RBIs.
