Fargo-Moorhead 5, St. Paul 3

Buddy Sosnoskie gave the RedHawks the 5-3 win in the rubber game of a three-game series against St. Paul. The Fargo-Moorhead right fielder hit a walk-off two-run homer in the ninth, capping a late comeback over the division rival Saints.

St. Paul was on top, 3-2, heading into the RedHawks’ half of the ninth. But, an error allowed C.J. Retherford to reach first to leadoff the inning. Another Saints error moved Retherford to third and he came in to score the tying run on an RBI ground out by Mitch Einertson. Sosnoskie was the next batter and, though he only needed a single to bring home the winning run from third, the left-handed hitter delivered his eighth homer of the season to win the ballgame.

Winnipeg 8, Sioux Falls 1

Goldeyes starter Edgar Osuna held Sioux Falls to three hits over 6.1 innings, as Winnipeg beat the Canaries, 8-1. Osuna allowed one run on a third-inning single by Cory Morales, but Sioux Falls could not manage much else off the left-hander.

While three different Goldeyes hitters contributed multiple RBI, Ryan Scoma and Luis Alen had the most consistent days at the plate. The first baseman went 3-for-4 with a double and crossed the plate three times. Alen also went 3-for-4, but drove in a pair of runs, as well. Casey Haerther and Fehlandt Lentini were the other two Goldeyes hitters to deliver two RBI.
