RAILCATS’ WILLIS BREAKS SLUMP AT PLAYER OF THE WEEK PACE

MOORHEAD, MN– The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Gary ShouthShore Railcats’ OF Colin Willis (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending June 10.

Entering the week, Willis was hitting just .192 with one home run and eight RBIs. Those totals skyrocketed after Willis put up a .440/.533/.800 slash line with two home runs, five runs scored, three doubles, and five base on balls from Monday to Sunday. What’s more, Willis saved his best performance for last, belting both home runs in a 3-5, two run, four RBI performance that lifted the Railcats to a 9-7 win over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Sunday. After the award winning week, Willis enters today with a .274 average, three home runs and 14 RBIs.

The Purdue North Central Alum has spent his entire professional career with Gary SouthShore, debuting and playing in 11 games at the end of the 2016 season before breaking out in 2017 with a .319 average eight home runs and 49 RBIs.
