MOORHEAD, MN– The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Gary SouthShore Railcats’ P Daniel Minor (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending June 24.

Minor (5-2) is now tied for the league lead in wins after winning twice this past week. In his two starts, Minor gave up just one earned run in 13.2 innings of work, allowing just seven hits and striking out 11 batters in the process.

The twenty seven year old right hander out of Texas A&M Corpus Christi began his professional career in 2012 after being selected in the ninth round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Houston Astros. Minor spent parts of four seasons in the Astros organization, reaching as high as double-A before moving on to the now defunct Laredo Lemurs of the American Association in 2015. Minor split time between Gary SouthShore and Winnipeg last season when he posted a 2.83 ERA in 57.1 innings of work.
