MOORHEAD, MINN. – The Cleburne Railroaders have sold the contract of RHP Steve Pastora to the Milwaukee Brewers organization, the American Association announced Saturday, May 18. Pastora is the 17th American Association player to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization in 2019, and the 37th since the start of the 2018 season.
After spending his first professional season with the Wichita Wingnuts in 2018, Pastora was traded twice over offseason. First, he was shipped from Wichita to the Gary SouthShore RailCats in October. Then, the RailCats traded the young righty for RHP Felix Carvallo in December. Pearson made three relief appearances during his short stint with the Wingnuts in 2018, giving up zero runs, while allowing two hits and striking out three batters in his three innings of relief as a professional. Pastora broke camp with Cleburne, but did not make an appearance in the 2019 regular season.
Prior to signing with Wichita, Pastora played at four different colleges. The California native spent two seasons at San Mateo Junior College as an infielder before joining Western Michigan in 2016 as an infielder. Pastora moved on to Lewis-Clark State College as a pitcher in 2017 before finishing his collegiate career as a pitcher at William Jessup in 2018. Pastora’s time in the Brewers organization will be his first in affiliated ball.
