DURHAM, NC – The American Association announced today that Sioux Falls Canaries INF Tim Pahuta (pictured) has been named the Rawlings Hitter of the Month for June. The selection was made by Pointstreak, the official statistician of the American Association.
Pahuta finished the month with the best run production in the American Association. The left-handed hitter drove 11 balls out of the park and knocked in 26 runs over 26 games. He also finished with the second-best batting average in the league (.396) and only struck out 12 times.
A Seton Hall University product, Pahuta delivered multi-home run games three times for the Canaries. On the second day of the month, he hit a pair of homers and drove in three runs against the Wingnuts. Three days later, Pahuta hit two out again against Winnipeg. Then, on Thursday, Pahuta hit two homers and drove in three runs against Grand Prairie in a 3-for-4 performance.
