ORIOLES STOCK UP ON AA PLAYERS, ADD LUCE

Luce

For the second consecutive day, the Baltimore Orioles have purchased the contract of an American Association player, this time adding Wichita Wingnuts OF Jake Luce.

After joining the Wingnuts in July from the United League, Luce was outstanding in 34 games for Wichita, hitting .341 with 16 RBI, two home runs and nine doubles.

Previously, the 25-year-old spent time with Rockford of the Frontier League in 2013, and Amarillo of the American Association in 2012. The native of McKinney, Texas, played collegiately at Elon.

Luce is the third Wichita player to be sold to a major-league organization this off-season, following RHP Chris Peacock (Pittsburgh) and OF Carlo Testa (Arizona).
