The Milwaukee Milkmen forced a decisive game five in the Miles Wolff Cup Finals with a 3-0 win against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Wednesday evening at Newman Outdoor Field.

The Milkmen took the lead in the top of the third inning when 2B Miguel Gomez singled home CF Bryan Torres (3-for-5). Torres scored again in the fifth inning on an error and 1B Will Kengor scored in the sixth when RF Carl Chester singled. 

Milwaukee kept the RedHawks off the board thanks to three solid pitching performances. Starting pitcher Christian Young worked five innings and gave up just two hits and two walks while striking out seven batters. Reliever Frankie Bartow came on in the sixth and handed the ball over to Reliever Rodrigo Benoit in the ninth after giving up just three hits and striking out one more. Benoit earned the save with two strikeouts in the ninth.

For the game, the RedHawks had just five hits, one each from five different batters. Just one RedHawks advanced to third base in the game and that came in the sixth when 3B Leobaldo Pina singled to allow C Christian Correa, who drew a leadoff walk, to reach third. 

The 2022 American Association Champion will be crowned tomorrow night, Thursday, September 22. First pitch of game five is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
