DURHAM, NC – The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Lincoln Saltdogs RHP Eddie McKiernan (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week.
McKiernan made his first two starts of the season this week and earned the win in both games. The right-hander pitched 13 total innings and gave up just two earned runs on eight hits. In McKiernan’s first start, he struck out eight and walked one over six innings to beat Sioux City. He followed that up by surrendering just three hits against the Goldeyes over seven frames.
In McKiernan’s short time as a starter, he holds a 1.38 ERA with 10 strikeouts. Overall, he has a 6-1 record with a 2.33 ERA. McKiernan has struck out 29 batters over 34.2 innings in the 2013 season.
