LEMURS’ TRACEY TABBED AS PITCHER OF THE WEEK

DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Laredo Lemurs RHP Sean Tracey (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 25.

Tracey made his first two starts of the season for the Lemurs this week and earned a pair of victories. On Monday, May 19, he threw six and 1/3 innings at home against the Winnipeg Goldeyes and allowed only one run on two hits with six strikeouts. The Lemurs went on to win 7-3. Five days later on Saturday, May 24, Tracey logged seven innings of work in a road start at the Grand Prairie AirHogs. He again allowed only one run in his outing, surrendering five hits and striking out three while walking none as the Lemurs rolled to a 14-1 win. Overall, his record sits at 2-0 with an ERA of 1.35.

Tracey is in his second season with the Lemurs, having joined the team in August 2013. When he joined the Lemurs, it marked the first time he had pitched in the United States since 2009. Tracey appeared in seven games at the Major League level with the Chicago White Sox in 2006, culminating a five-year stay in the White Sox system.

The Lemurs begin a four-game road series at the Wichita Wingnuts tonight, May 26, at 7:05 p.m. Central time.
