Laredo's Rau Took Care Of Business Against Kansas City

El Paso 6, Gary SouthShore 5Box

El Paso 1B Jonathan Cisneros second double of the game brought home the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Diablos walked off on the Gary SouthShore RailCats 6-5. Cisneros went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI and a run scored. El Paso 3B Edgar Corcino was also 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBI but LF J.J. Muse had a team-high three hits in four at bats. For the RailCats, it was DH Cristian Guerrero who had the team-high in hits with three of them. Reliever Mike Koons picked up the win after working a scoreless ninth inning.

Amarillo 7, Grand Prairie 6Box

The Amarillo Sox walked off on the Grand Prairie AirHogs 7-6 as DH Cory Patton scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning. Patton was tabbed as the winning pitcher for his work on the mound in the ninth inning. He gave one hit and the game-tying run but he made up for it in the bottom half of the frame. At the plate, he was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs. RF Chris Valencia also had a big game going 4-for-5 including a pair of doubles and a run scored. 3B Juan Richardson led the way for the AirHogs with a team-high three hits in four at bats.

Laredo 4, Kansas City 2Box

Laredo Lemur SS Garrett Rau (pictured) took care of business Sunday night as his squad downed the Kansas City T-Bones 4-2. It was a tie ball game when Rau came to the plate in the bottom of the fourth inning and with two outs he turned on a full count delivery and belted a triple that scored C Brian Peterson and RF Marcos Rodriguez. Those proved to be the game winning runs and Rau made sure of that when he moved from short stop to the mound in the ninth inning. He gave up a hit but struck out three T-Bones to earn the save. Laredo CF Sawyer Carroll also the other two RBI for the Lemurs as he went 2-for-4.

Lincoln 4, Sioux City 2Box

The Lincoln Saltdogs topped the Sioux City Explorers 4-2 behind a dominating performance on the mound form starter Joe Bisenius. Bisenius nearly went the distance as he recorded 26 outs allowing just two runs (one earned) both in the ninth inning. He struck out ten batters and gave up just four hits. Reliever R.J. Rodriguez picked the save for recording the final out of the game. LF Matt Forgatch had a game-high two RBI and RF Dennis Raben had a team-high two hits in four at bats. For the Explorers, SS Leugum Barroso registered half of the team’s hits with two of them.
