DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Winnipeg Goldeyes INF Tyler Kuhn (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending May 18.
Kuhn is off to a blistering start at the plate in 2014, going 11-for-21 (.524) in four games at the Amarillo Sox to begin the season. The Louisville, Kentucky native has a pair of doubles and six runs scored. Kuhn has recorded a multi-hit game in all four games thus far. He went 3-for-5 on Thursday in an 11-7 loss, 2-for-5 in a 5-2 win Friday, 3-for-6 in a 12-2 win Saturday, and 3-for-5 in an 8-4 win Sunday, a game in which he collected his first RBI of the season. Leading off and playing shortstop each game, Kuhn has been key to Winnipeg’s 3-1 start with an on-base percentage of .524, matching his batting average, as he has yet to draw a walk in 2014.
