DURHAM, NC – The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Kansas City T-Bones 3B Devin Goodwin (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Hitter of the Week.
Goodwin was one of several T-Bones who vied for the Hitter of the Week crown. The third baseman was joined by three other KC batters who hit at least three home runs this week. Matt Padgett and Jairo Perez also hit three long balls, while Kyle Nichols led the pack with four. Goodwin and Padgett also hit for average, each batting above .400 through Kansas City’s seven games (Padgett .458, Goodwin .419). But, while Kansas City had numerous candidates for Hitter of the Week, Goodwin’s combination of power, average and run production put him on top.
The T-Bones’ third baseman tallied at least one RBI every game, finishing the week with 14. Goodwin’s most productive game was on Thursday in the first game of Kansas City’s series in Amarillo. The Homewood, Alabama native homered twice and drove in five runs to lead the T-Bones to their fourth consecutive victory. Goodwin delivered four total multi-RBI games this week, as the T-Bones won six of their seven contests against Amarillo and Grand Prairie.
