Lincoln 10, Sioux City 7
The Lincoln Saltdogs erupted for 10 runs to beat the Sioux City Explorers 10-7. SS Yasel Gomez and RF Stephen Douglas led Lincoln with 4-4 and 2-5 nights at the plate, respectably. The two combined to drive in five runs and score four.
CF Dan Carroll also managed a multi-hit night, going 2-3 at the plate with a walk.
Mike Burns would pick up the win for Lincoln after throwing 5.2 innings and allowing five runs (one unearned). He struck out four and walked two in his outing.
Quebec 4, Kansas City 3
A four-run fourth inning would be the only scoring the Quebec Capitales would need to top the Kansas City T-Bones 4-3. 1B Josue Peley tripled in the fourth to clear the bases after two walks and a single by 3B Jonathan Malo loaded them up. The Capitales would cap off the inning with a sacrifice fly by RF Royce Consigli to bring in Peley.
Dustin Crenshaw picked up the win for the Capitales after throwing five innings and letting up three runs. He also struck out four batters while walking just one.
Laredo 2, Amarillo 1
The Laredo Lemurs only needed two runs to come up with a win over the Amarillo Sox, thanks to great pitching across the board. Fabian Williamson threw six shutout innings and struck out five to get his second win of the season. He allowed just three hits and two walks.
Mark Haynes threw a perfect inning in relief and struck out one, while Bradley Blanks let up the only Sox run but still managed to hold on and preserve the win for his third save of the season.
CF Sawyer Carroll and 1B Mike Sheridan paced the offense for Laredo. Carroll went 2-4 and scored a run, while Sheridan went 2-4 with an RBI. Both players doubled on the night.
Grand Prairie 8, El Paso 7
The Grand Prairie AirHogs went into the ninth inning trailing the El Paso Diablos by three runs. They managed to score four and then shut down El Paso in the bottom of the ninth to complete the comeback and win 8-7.
SS Ryan Pineda’s two RBI triple in the ninth would end up being the game winning hit. Grand Prairie’s first three batters (CF Keanon Simon, 2B Brandon Pinckney, and LF Brian Myrow) combined to go 6-13 with six runs and three RBIs.
Amarillo 8, Laredo 7
The Amarillo Sox and Laredo Lemurs resumed play of a game that was originally suspended on Saturday night due to curfew. The clubs needed extra innings on Sunday to decide a winner and Amarillo came through with a run in the top of the 14th to win, 8-7.
