Winnipeg 3, Lincoln 0 – Box

The pitching duo of Edwin Carl and Jailen Peguero combined on a six-hit shutout as the Winnipeg Goldeyes beat the Lincoln Saltdogs, 3-0. Carl went the first eight innings allowing only five hits while striking out six batters. The righty earned the victory and improved to 3-2 on the season. Peguero notched his sixth save as he gave up a hit in the ninth inning. Offensively for Winnipeg, RF David Rohm went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI while LF Josh Romanski collected two hits and tallied a run.

Kansas City 7, Joplin 5 – Box

The Kansas City T-Bones rolled out to a 7-0 lead after four innings and held on late to beat the Joplin Blasters by a 7-5 final. Kansas City 1B Jake Blackwood led the way offensively going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. T-Bones DH Starlin Rodriguez also added a home run in a 2-for-3 night along with two runs scored and a RBI while SS Vladimir Frias collected two hits and scored a run. Kansas City starter Jared Messer tossed seven solid innings en route to his first win of the season. Messer gave up an earned run on five hits and fanned two hitters. For Joplin in defeat, 1B Charlie Valerio went 3-for-5.

Wichita 6, Sioux City 3 – Box

Wichita jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three innings and would go on to double up the Sioux City Explorers by a 6-3 score. The Wingnuts collected 11 hits in the contest with four players having multi-hit games. Wichita CF Richard Prigatano went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI and LF T.J. Mittelstaedt collected a pair of hits, scored a run and drove in three. Wingnuts starting pitcher Tim Brown threw seven sharp innings to earn his third win on the year. Brown gave up a pair of runs on five hits and struck out two hitters. First baseman Noah Perio had two hits and two RBI in the loss for Sioux City.
