Winnipeg 9, St. Paul 3 – Box
The Winnipeg Goldeyes jumped out to a 4-1 lead after three innings and would never look back as they defeated the St. Paul Saints, 9-3. Winnipeg DH Ridge Hoopii-Haslam led the way offensively going 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI. Goldeyes 1B David Rohm scored a pair of runs in a 1-for-2 day while 2B Casio Grider added a double and three RBI. Winnipeg starting pitcher Mikey O’Brien tossed seven solid innings and picked up his 10th win of the season. O’Brien allowed three earned runs on two hits to along with three strikeouts. The Goldeyes have now won 12 of 16 since the All-Star break and have closed to within 4 ½ games of St. Paul in the North Division.
