Winnipeg 3, Fargo-Moorhead 2 – Box
The Winnipeg Goldeyes rallied from 2-1 deficit with a run in the eighth inning and one more in the ninth to edge past the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in a walk-off win, 3-2.Winnipeg RF Tillman Pugh had a 2-for-3 day at the plate while LF Adam Heisler went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Both starting pitchers, Tyler Alexander of Fargo-Moorhead and Matthew Jackson of Winnipeg tossed eight sharp innings but neither factored in the decision. Goldeyes pitcher Brendan Lafferty ended up with the win throwing a scoreless ninth inning and striking out two hitters.
St. Paul 10, Kansas City 3 – Box
St. Paul scored four runs in the fourth inning to seize control of the game as the Saints downed the Kansas City T-Bones by a 10-3 final. St. Paul CF Alonzo Harris was the star of the game offensively as he went 3-for-4 on the day with a home run, three runs scored and three RBI. Saints 1B Vinny DiFazio added three hits in four-bats with two RBI while RF Angelo Songco and DH Sam Maus each chipped in with a home run. St. Paul starting pitcher Dustin Crenshaw tossed five innings in picking up the victory. He allowed three earned runs on six hits and fanned four batters. Crenshaw is now 14-2 and with one more victory he will tie the league record for most wins in a season.
New Jersey 9, Gary SouthShore 2 – Box
New Jersey scored early and often in this one as the Jackals went out to an 8-0 lead after just two innings and rolled to a 9-2 victory over the Gary SouthShore RailCats. New Jersey DH Mark Threlkeld had a monster game at the plate going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and five RBI. Jackals 1B AJ Kirby-Jones had two hits in five at-bats with a run scored and two RBI and SS Peter Mooney and 2B Anthony Gomez each had 2-for-4 games and combined to score five runs. New Jersey starter John Walter had plenty of run support en route to notching his 10th win of the season. Walter gave up two earned runs on eight hits with a walk and six strikeouts.
Laredo 17, Amarillo 7 – Box
It was all Laredo in this contest as the Lemurs scored runs in every inning but two and cruised to a 17-7 win over the Amarillo Thunderheads. Every batter in the Laredo lineup scored at least a run with five hitters having multi-hit games. Lemurs 2B Abel Nieves and 3B Juan Silverio each had 4-for-6 days at the plate and combined to score six runs and drive in three. Laredo DH Kevin Taylor and RF Denis Phipps launched two of the four home runs the team hit while LF Ty Morrison scored three times and had two RBI. Lemurs pitcher Ryan Beckman tossed three innings of relief to pickup the win. Beckman allowed no earned runs on three hits.
