MOORHEAD, MN- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Winnipeg Goldeyes’ OF Tyler Hill has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending July 28, 2019.
Hill earned the award after hitting .529 with five runs scored, three doubles, one triple, seven RBIs, and four walks drawn over five games this past week. The 23-year-old is now hitting .378 with 25 runs scored, 13 doubles, 1 triple, 3 home runs, 21 RBIs, 16 walks drawn and 11 stolen bases over 31 games with Winnipeg this season.
Hill began his professional career in 2014 after being drafted in the 19th round of the MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox. The Delaware native spent five seasons in the Red Sox organization, stealing 42 bags with the Greenville Drive of the South Atlantic League (A) in 2017. Hill began 2019 with the New York Yankees’ organization before landing with the Goldeyes.
