Sioux City 5, Kansas City 4 (10 Innings) – Box
Left fielder Jayce Ray scored the game winning run on a bases loaded walk in the top of the 10th inning as the Sioux City Explorers defeated the Kansas City T-Bones, 5-4. Sioux City took a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the seventh only to see Kansas City DH Kevin Keyes belt a three-run home run to tie the contest up at 4-4 and eventually force extra innings. Explorers SS Nate Samson went 3-for-5 with a home run while 1B John Nogowski and C Dylan Kelly each had two hits, a run scored and a RBI. Sioux City pitcher Todd Eaton tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn his third win of the year. Eaton gave up a hit and struck out two in the six batters faced.
Lincoln 4, Texas 3 – Box
First baseman Curt Smith singled home 2B Cesar Valera with the go-ahead in the eighth inning as the Lincoln Saltdogs defeated the Texas AirHogs, 4-3. Smith had a terrific night at the plate going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and three RBI. Valera walked twice and plated a pair of runs while LF Brandon Jacobs had a 2-for-4 game with a run scored. Lincoln pitcher Leuris Gomez tossed 1/3 of an inning of relief and notched his fourth win of the season. Gomez struck out the only batter he faced in the seventh inning. For Texas in the losing effort, leadoff hitter Alvaro Rondon went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI.
St. Paul 10, Winnipeg 4 – Box
The St. Paul Saints scored seven runs over their final three trips to the plate to overcome a 4-3 deficit and beat the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 10-4. St. Paul collected 11 hits as a team with four players having multi-hit games. Saints 1B Tony Thomas went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI while 3B Nate Hanson scored three times and collected a RBI in a 2-for-5 night. St. Paul LF Anthony Gallas also chipped in a sixth inning solo home run and two RBI. Saints reliever Brandon Peterson threw two scoreless innings to pick-up the victory in his first outing of the season. Peterson allowed a walk and two hits to go along with three strikeouts.
