Sioux City 7, Sioux Falls 1 – Box

Sioux City continued to stay red hot as they notched their six-straight victory with a 7-1 decision over Sioux Falls. The Explorers rolled out to a 7-0 lead after just three innings and would cruise from there to the big win. Sioux City DH LeVon Washington led the way at the plate tonight going a perfect 3-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Explorers 2B Nick Flair added two hits in four at-bats while LF Jayce Ray launched a two-run home run and collected three RBI. Sioux City starting pitcher Hobbs Johnson tossed six solid innings to earn his second win of the season. Johnson gave up an earned run on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

Kansas City 5, St. Paul 2 – Box

Kansas City jumped out to a 5-0 lead after 2 ½ innings of play and would go on from there to a 5-2 victory over St. Paul. The T-Bones collected 11 hits in the contest with eight of the nine batters in the lineup picking up at least one. Kansas City 2B Zach Walters led the way going 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI. T-Bones leadoff hitter Omar Garcia and 1B Chase McDonald each had 2-for-4 nights at the plate with a run scored while 3B Patrick Brady had a pair of hits in three at-bats and a walk. Kansas City reliever Kamakani Usui tossed 1 2/3 of scoreless baseball to notch the win. Usui gave up no hits and three walks to go along with a strikeout. For the Saints, who left 12 runners on base, 3B Nate Hanson went 3-for-5 with a home run and two doubles.

Gary SouthShore 5, Texas 1 – Box

Gary SouthShore scored four runs in the fifth inning to break a 1-1 tie and defeat the Texas AirHogs by the score of 5-1. RailCats 1B Frank Martinez went 2-for-4 with two RBI while RF Anthony Cheky, Jr. added a double and scored two runs. Gary SouthShore leadoff hitter Chase Harris also chipped in with two hits in four at-bats and drove in a run. RailCats starting pitcher Alex Gunn threw seven terrific innings to notch his first victory of the year. Gunn allowed an earned run on five hits and struck out six batters. The bullpen duo of Braulio Torres-Perez and Drasen Johnson each threw an inning of relief and struck out the side.
