Sioux Falls 10, St. Paul 5Box

The Canaries plated nine of their runs from the seventh inning on, and rallied to take a road win at the Saints.

With his team trailing 4-1 in the seventh inning, C Kevin Dultz (pictured) hit a two-run home run to cut the deficit to one. 2B Shelby Ford hit an RBI single to tie the game, and Sioux Falls took the lead on an RBI fielder’s choice from 1B Chris Duffy.

Dultz was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and four runs scored. RF Steven Tinoco was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Duffy notched a pair of doubles and the critical RBI. In total, Sioux Falls collected 14 hits.

RHP Ben Moore struck out nine batters over seven innings, and got the late run support to earn his second win of the season.

Fargo-Moorhead 6, Lincoln 0Box

A steady offensive attack and solid pitching powered the RedHawks to a home victory over the Saltdogs. LF Sawyer Carroll was 3-for-5 for Fargo, and DH Tim Alberts went 3-for-4. Four RedHawks players hit doubles, and C Petey Paramore  hit two solo home runs in the fifth and seventh innings. Paramore’s two RBI led the way for Fargo, which pounded out 13 hits.

Meanwhile, RHP Brian Ernst and RHP Justin Erasmus combined on a four-hit shutout. Ernst allowed three hits and struck out three over six innings for the win, while Erasmus earned his first save of the year with three strikeouts and a single hit over three innings.

Wichita 7, Kansas City 1– Box

Much like the game in St. Paul, late offense was the name of the game in Wichita on Tuesday night. The host Wingnuts scored five runs in the last two innings to blow open the game against the T-Bones. In the bottom of the seventh inning, C Chris McMurray hit a two-run home run to extend a 2-1 lead to 4-1. McMurray had previously scored the go-ahead run for the Wingnuts in the fifth inning on an RBI single from 1B Colt Loehrs.

In the eighth, the Wingnuts scored three more insurance runs, two of which were unearned. McMurray finished the day 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, and SS Ryan Khoury and CF Brent Clevlen had two hits apiece.

Three Wichita pitchers combined to throw a three-hitter. RHP Jon Link earned the win, allowing two hits and striking out three over seven innings. RHP Patrick Mincey and LHP Alan Williams followed by shutting down the T-Bones over the last two frames.

Winnipeg 7, Grand Prairie 6Box

1B Casey Haerther hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Goldeyes took the series opener against the AirHogs. The heroics were only necessary thanks to Grand Prairie RF Palmer Karr’s RBI fielder’s choice in the top of the ninth to tie the game.

Before the final stanza, Grand Prairie had scored all five of their runs in the second inning, and Winnipeg recorded four in the sixth. RF Donnie Webb hit a two-run home run during the sixth inning outburst for Winnipeg, joining Haerther as Goldeyes who went yard in the game. Karr homered for Grand Prairie in the second with a two-run shot of his own.

Haerther was 4-for-5, and DH Ryan Pineda went 4-for-4 for the Goldeyes. Despite surrendering the lead, RHP Kyle Bellamy earned the win in relief.

Laredo 8, Amarillo 5 (Doubleheader Game One- 7 innings)Box

The Lemurs scored four runs in two separate innings and took the opener of a twinbill in Amarillo. LF JP Ramirez and DH John Alonso both went 2-for-4 for Laredo, who only had two extra base hits in the whole game. Alonso and 1B Gerardo Avila each had doubles, and Avila drove in a pair of runs. For Amarillo, 3B Kevin Mahoney was 2-for-3 in his first game off the disabled list.

RHP Sean Tracey earned the win by allowing only three hits over five innings and striking out a pair.

Laredo 5, Amarillo 1 (Doubleheader Game Two- 7 innings)Box

The Lemurs swept the doubleheader behind a four-run first inning, their third four-run inning of the night. The biggest blow came when C Carlos Ramirez hit a two-out, two-RBI double.

Laredo LF JP Ramirez was 4-for-4 in game two, picking up an RBI in the process. CF Nick Van Stratten was 2-for-4 for the Lemurs, and SS Devin Goodwin scored two runs. For Amarillo, C Jeff Farnham was 3-for-3 and 1B Kyle Nichols was 2-for-3.

RHP Cesar Carillo allowed one run on four hits and struck out two in five innings to get the win for Laredo.

Sioux City at Gary SouthShore- Postponed

The game between the Explorers and RailCats was postponed due to rain in the Gary, Indiana, area. The two teams will play a doubleheader Wednesday, June 11 at 5:10 p.m. Central time.
