Chicago 8, St. Paul 4 – Box Score

Chicago jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three innings of play and would go from there to beat St. Paul by the score of 8-4.

The Dogs picked-up 10 hits as team with three batters having multi-hit games. Chicago RF Victor Roache led the way going 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBIs. Dogs 3B Trey Vavra had a two-hit game with two runs scored and two RBIs while 1B and July Batter of the Month Keon Barnum picked-up two hits in three official at-bats and plated a run.

Chicago starter Austin Wright threw six solid innings and earned the victory. The University of Mississippi product allowed one earned run on six hits with three walks and four punchouts. With the win, Wright evened his record up at 5-5 on the year.

Right fielder Michael Lang had a 3-for-5 game with a home run and two RBIs for the Saints.

 

Winnipeg 3, Fargo-Moorhead 1 – Box Score

Winnipeg starting pitcher Mitchell Lambson tossed 7 1/3 solid innings in leading the Goldeyes to a 3-1 victory over Fargo-Moorhead.

Lambson had a terrific outing tonight as he allowed one earned run on five hits and struck out nine batters. The Arizona State product threw 122 pitches, 78 strikes and with the win improved his record to 9-2 on the season. Lambert currently is tied for first in wins and second in strikeouts with 94.

Offensively for Winnipeg, CF Reggie Abercrombie led the way going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Goldeyes LF Carlos Garcia scored a run in a 2-for-5 night while DH James Harris had three hits in four official at-bats and plated a run.

Right fielder Tim Colwell had a 1-for-4 night with an RBI in the loss for the RedHawks.

 

Texas 4, Cleburne 3 – Box Score

Texas tallied three runs in the sixth inning to take a 4-2 lead and that would be enough to edge past Cleburne by the score of 4-3. The win by the AirHogs was their third straight.

The AirHogs collected eight hits in the contest and was led by SS Yang Jin who went 1-for-2 with a triple, a run scored and two RBIs. Texas DH Jonathan Moroney drove in a run in a 2-for-3 night while C Li Xuhong had a pair of hits in three official at-bats and an RBI.

Texas starting pitcher Gan Quan allowed three earned runs over eight innings of work and notched his first victory of the season. Quan gave up a walk and three hits to go along with eight strikeouts.

For Cleburne in the losing effort, 1B Angel Reyes had a 1-for-4 night with a home run.

 

Lincoln 6, Kansas City 3 – Box Score

Lincoln scored five runs in the eighth inning to overcome a 3-1 deficit and beat Kansas City, 6-3. The Saltdogs scored all five of their runs in the big rally via two singles, a hit by pitch, an error and a sacrifice fly.

There were seven batters in the Lincoln lineup who recorded a hit including 3B Josh Mazzola who went 1-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Saltdogs SS Christian Ibarra and CF Forrestt Allday each picked-up a hit and a run scored while DH Randolph Oduber and C Tyler Moore both collected a base hit and an RBI.

Lincoln pitcher Tyler Anderson tossed three solid innings of relief and earned the win. The southpaw gave up an unearned run on two hits and struck out three batters. Anderson is now a perfect 3-0 on the year with the victory.

T-Bones RF Danny Mars went 1-for-5 with two runs batted in.

 

Gary SouthShore 6, Milwaukee 1 – Box Score

Trailing 1-0 through 2 ½ innings of play, Gary SouthShore took command as they plated a run in the third inning and two more in the fourth to take the lead for good and beat Milwaukee, 6-1.

The RailCats collected nine hits as a team and was led by SS Marcus Mooney who went 3-for-3 with a stolen base and two runs scored. Gary SouthShore C Danny De La Calle had two hits, including a triple, along with a run scored and an RBI while RF Colin Willis drove in a pair of runs in a 1-for-3 outing.

Gary SouthShore pitcher Nile Ball tossed three shutout innings of relief and grabbed the win. The 22-year-old gave up a walk and three hits to go with a punchout. With the victory, Ball is now 1-0 on the season.

Catcher Manuel Boscan had a three-hit game with a run scored in the loss for the Milkmen.
