MOORHEAD, MINN. – The Kansas City T-Bones have sold the contract of RHP Randall Delgado to the New York Yankees organization, the American Association announced Saturday, May 25. Delgado is the 21st American Association player to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization in 2019, and the 41st since the start of the 2018 season.
Delgado signed with the T-Bones over the offseason after spending the last eight seasons in the Majors. In two starts with Kansas City, the Panama native went 2-0 while giving up no runs, just six hits, two walks and striking out 14 batters over 10 innings of work.
Delgado began his professional career in 2007 after signing with the Atlanta Braves as an international free agent. The righty spent four full seasons in Atlanta’s minor league system before debuting for the Braves in 2011. In seven starts with Atlanta in 2011, Delgado went 1-1 with a 2.83 ERA in 35 innings pitched. Delgado also spent part of 2012 with the Braves before moving on to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2013 where he’d stay for the next six seasons. In eight years of major league experience, Delgado is 30-29 with a 4.10 ERA over 542.2 innings pitched.
