Wichia DH Brent Clevelen’s (pictured) walk-off single in the 12th lifted the Wingnuts over the Texas AirHogs. Reliever Chase Johnson earned the win throwing a scoreless twelfth inning. Wichit outhit Texas 12-11. Texas RF Cody Lenahan went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored.
Lincoln 9, Kansas City 2 – Box
Saltdogs’ 1B Curt Smith went 4-for-5 to lead Lincoln over the Kansas City T-Bones 9-2. Lincoln starter Shairon Martis earned the win throwing seven innings, allowing one earned run to improve to 5-4 on the year. Kansas City scored their lone runs in the seventh and ninth innings. The T-Bones were led by 1B Jake Blackwood, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk.
Gary SouthShore 5, Winnipeg 4 – Box
Two runs in the ninth inning helped push the Gary SouthShore RailCats past the Winnipeg Goldeyes. RailCats’ reliever Taylor Black earned the win tossing 1.2 scoreless innings while Andy Roberts logged the save. C Jose Gonzalez paced the offense going 2-for-4. For Winnipeg, 2B Casio Grider went 2-for-4.
St. Paul 6, Sioux Falls 3 – Box
St. Paul scored six runs over the first five innings to propel the Saints to a 6-3 win over the Sioux Falls Canaries. Starter Robert Coe earned the win throwing 6.2 innings, allowing just two earned runs while reliever Ryan Rodebaugh received the save. 1B Angelo Songco paced the offense with two hits. For Sioux Falls, 3B Ryan Lashley went 2-for-4.
Sioux City 4, Fargo-Moorhead 1 (12 innings) – Box
Sioux City Explorers’ reliever Rob Wort earned the win to help the Explorers past Fargo-Moorhead 4-1 in 12 innings. The X’s outhit the RedHawks 8-5. Sioux City 2B Ralph Henriquez went 2-for-4. For Fargo-Moorhead, DH K.D. Kang had two hits.
Laredo 9, Joplin 3 – Box
The Laredo Lemurs defeated the Joplin Blasters 9-3. Laredo starter Ryan Beckman allowed one earned run over seven innings. DH Ty Morrison went 4-for-5. For Joplin 2B Cory Morales paced the offense going 2-for-4.
