MOORHEAD, MINN. – The St. Paul Saints have sold the contract of RHP Nick Belzer to the Milwaukee Brewers’ organization, the American Association announced Thursday, June 20. Belzer is the 27th American Association player to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization in 2019.
Belzer signed with the Saints over the offseason after completing his collegiate career in 2018 with the Minnesota State Mankato Mavericks. With the Mavericks, the 23-year-old went 6-3 with a 4.13 ERA over two seasons.
So far with St. Paul in 2019, Belzer is 2-0 in five starts, posting a 1.31 ERA over 27.1 innings pitched while striking out 17, walking nine, and allowing 17 hits. The young righty is the fourth player to have his contract sold to the Milwaukee Brewers from the American Association in 2019.
