Chicago 5, Milwaukee 4 (11 Innings) – Box Score
The Chicago Dogs walked off on the Milwaukee Milkmen 5-4 thanks to a home run from 2B Blake Allemand in the bottom of the 11th inning.
The Milkmen built a 4-0 lead as 1B David Washington doubled home CF Brett Vertigan in the top of the first and, in the seventh, DH Jose Sermo hit a lead-off homer and RF Zach Nehrir added a two-run shot. In the bottom of the seventh, DH Ryan Lidge (2-for-4) hit a home run that scored Allemand. In the next inning, Allemand doubled to score 1B K.C. Hobson and SS Tyler Ladendorf.
Allemand (3-for-4) capped off his impressive night with a one-out homer to give the Dogs a win against the league-leading Milkmen.
Milwaukee now holds a 1.5 game over second place Sioux Falls while the Dogs are in sixth place but still in the hunt as they are four games back with 11 to play.
Fargo-Moorhead 12, Winnipeg 5 – Box Score
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks picked up their sixth win in a row as they topped the Winnipeg Goldeyes 12-5 on Saturday night at Newman Outdoor Field.
The Goldeyes score first when 3B Darnell Sweeney hit a solo shot in the first but the RedHawks quickly took control in the next frame with six runs. SS Sam Dexter (2-for-4) hit an RB double and then OF Alex Boxwell (2-for-5) doubled in the next at-bat to score Dexter and 2B Christian Ibarra (3-for-4). DH Drew Ward (2-for-5) added a three-run homer later in the inning.
Dexter bounced into a double play in the next inning to allow 3B Leobaldo Pina (2-for-3) to score and the RedHawks added five more runs in the fifth including a two-run homer from C Dylan Kelly and a two-run double from Ward.
OF Brennan Metzger added a 2-for-4 performance with a run and an RBI. For the Goldeyes RF Logan Hill and C Nick Oddo went 2-for-3.
Sioux Falls 10, St. Paul 5 – Box Score
The Sioux Falls Canaries pulled away late to top the St. Paul Saints 10-5 on Saturday night at CHS Field.
The Canaries plated a pair of runs in the top of the second as CF Logan Landon (2-for-3) singled home DH Jabari Henry and C/LF Mike Hart (4-for-5) and, while they never trailed, the Saints stayed within striking distance until a four-run eighth-inning rally from the Canaries. In the eighth, RF Clint Coulter singled to allow both 1B/C Roy Morales and 2B/LF Ryan Brett to score. In the next at-bat, 3B Damek Tomscha (2-for-4) singled to plate both Landon and Coulter.
For the Saints, CF Mikey Reynolds went 2-for-4 and SS Nate Samson added a pair of hits, runs and RBIs.
The Canaries maintained their spot in second place in the American Association standings 1.5 games behind the Milkmen and 1.5 games ahead of the Saints in third.
